About us

The Precision Mechatronics Laboratory (PML) at the University of Liège (ULiège), located in Liège in eastern Belgium, develops technologies for ultra-precise scientific instruments. Our work focuses on precision mechanics, sensing, and advanced control to measure and mitigate vibrations and disturbances that limit performance.

PML is actively involved in next-generation gravitational wave detectors such as the Einstein Telescope, addressing key challenges in low-frequency sensitivity and cryogenic operation. We develop and test full-scale prototype systems for ultra-low-noise environments.
